چکیده

2D multi-channel seismic profiles and a 3D survey were utilised together with potential field available well data to study the late Mesozoic-Cenozoic tectono-stratigraphic evolution of northern Lofoten-Vesterålen margin, offshore Norway. The analysis resulted in an updated structural stratigraphic framework, new better refined elements. Distinct along-margin basin segmentation is evident imposed by NW-SE trending curvilinear transfer zones informally named as Jennegga zone, Vesterålen zone system, Andøya zone. These divide area into three main margin segments, namely Lofoten, Vesterålen, segments. Five rift phases varying intensity have been recognised refined, they are evidenced eight mapped fault families: pre-Jurassic, Late Jurassic-earliest Cretaceous, Aptian-Albian, Albian-Cenomanian, individual families within Paleocene. In addition, compressional deformation features observed related volcanic build-up doming Cenozoic successions. Large parts dominated prominent low-angle detachment complex North Utrøst Ridge Fault Complex, has brought forward details composite Cretaceous-Paleocene rifting. A major component latter faulting that also on conjugate NE Greenland margin. This key evidence conjugate, more ductile, mode at intermediate-to-deep crustal levels consisted lower- upper-plate configurations reflects multiphase tectonic evolution. shows represents essential Atlantic margins.

Tectono-stratigraphic signature of multiphased rifting on divergent margins (deep-offshore southwest Iberia, North Atlantic)

[1] Regional 2D multichannel seismic, borehole, dredge and outcrop data, together with burial models for strata in southwest Iberia, are used to investigate the tectono-stratigraphic signature of multiphased rifting on divergent margins. Our burial model reveals that Mesozoic extension occurred during three main phases, each comprising distinct subsidence pulses separated by short-lived periods...

Numerical modeling of the late Cenozoic geomorphic evolution of Grand

The late Cenozoic geomorphic evolution of Grand Canyon has been infl uenced by three primary tectonic and drainage adjustment events. First, 1 km of relief was produced along the Grand Wash–Wheeler Fault system beginning at 16.5 Ma. Second, the ancestral Colorado River became integrated with the lower Colorado River through Grand Canyon between 5.5 and 6 Ma. Third, the Colorado River was infl u...
